FoodPrint. A dish that leaves its mark

Combining gastronomy, craftwork and design. That was the premise when we were suggested to participate in «Diseño al Plato» (Design to the Dish), an exhibition organised by The Association of Designers of the Region of Valencia (ADCV) for this new edition of the Valencia Disseny Week. We had to think about a recipient that contained a special recipe by a Valencian chef and which could be manufactured by a master craftsman with his own hands.

Our idea was inspired by the concept of StreetFood: eating in the street, outdoors, in a park, in an area with views, with friends on the floor. Fast food without compromising quality. A sole as the symbol of the take away; of urban brands on the concrete; of personalized footprints.

Along with chef Jordi Martínez from O3 Gastronomy (Jauja, Zoco Bar and Llámame Lola) and manufactured in glass by craftswoman Sara Sorribes, we designed a glassware inspired by this concept: the street, walking, take away food, modernity and variety. The result is a glassware which imitates the soles of trainers and which holds a mini shrimp burger from Denia with squid ink bread.

Our design will be exhibited from Monday Februrary 9 at the Centre Cultural La Nau along with 14 other creative teams, also composed by designers, chefs and artisans. As well as that, our exhibition will include different graphic projects related to the gastronomy world: from visual identities to signs, billboards, letters..etc. In this second exhibition, we have participated by designing the visual identity and apps for the restaurants Cala Bandida, Zoco, Llámame Loca and L’olleta.

Moreover, this project is specially important for us due to its charatiable purpose: the designed products will be raffled and the funds collected will go to the Food Bank of Valencia. We hope to see you there at 20.00, when the exhibition opens.
