Suite Odosdesign Hotel Barracas

2025

A tribute to the Mediterranean landscape: translating the territory into experience

At Feria Hábitat València 2025, we presented our Suite at Hotel Barracas, designed by Tomás Alía — a space conceived as a tribute to the Albufera and its rice fields, symbols of tradition, roots, and Mediterranean culture.

Our starting point was to reinterpret the Valencian agricultural landscape and translate it into a contemporary language. Each piece of the suite emerges from that reading of the territory: planters inspired by rice grains, ceramic dividers that recall Mediterranean latticework, a daybed that echoes the geometry of the rice fields, tables that translate the circular rhythm of agriculture into industry, clay coatings that tint the walls in earthy tones, and textiles that explore the dialogue between areas and volumes to create rhythm and relief.

The result is an interior that connects nature, tradition, and design — a space where the rhythm of the rice fields and the calm of the Albufera are transformed into an experience of rest and deeply Mediterranean contemplation.

Objects born from the landscape

SEED — Miter

Inspired by rice grains, we designed organic-shaped planters that evoke the furrows of cultivation and the steady growth of seeds. In collaboration with Miter and using Rialto terrazzo by Iris Ceramica Group, these porcelain pieces combine strength, purity, and a direct connection to the Mediterranean landscape.

BIG FIELDS — Miter + Sapienstone

We reinterpreted the traditional Mediterranean ceramic lattice into a modular piece conceived for large-scale applications. Based on circular openings — an essential form of nature — this divider creates a rhythmic pattern of light and shadow that transforms the perception of space.

GRIDIA — Creavalo

Inspired by the Valencian orchard, this mural composition turns geometry into art. Starting from simple forms, we explored the dialogue between areas and volumes to create a play of rhythm and relief that transforms the wall into a dynamic landscape.

RICE FIELDS — Gomarco + Campos

We conceived a daybed that fuses the comfort of a traditional bed with the freshness of the outdoors. Its soft reliefs evoke the terraces and flowing water between the rice fields, while its green upholstery recalls the endless plots of the Albufera. Together with Gomarco and Campos, we developed a custom mattress with three-dimensional fabrics that reinforce the connection with the Valencian landscape.

DORIK — Actiu + Kvadrat

We integrated the Dorik table, inspired by the first Greek columns, as a symbol of balance and natural order. Its tabletop, made from recycled felt waste by Kvadrat, reflects the circularity of Mediterranean agriculture applied to industry.

Textures that breathe the territory

The atmosphere of the suite is completed by the presence of Vertisol, Nomon, and Ecoclay. Vertisol’s textiles add texture and depth, Nomon’s lamps bring warmth, and Ecoclay’s clay coatings envelop the walls in earthy tones that evoke Mediterranean craftsmanship and architecture.

A contemporary gaze on our roots

A space that breathes culture, craftsmanship, and territory, translated into a contemporary language where design and landscape intertwine.
