Nearly a decade ago, we introduced the ENSOMBRA sunshade for Gandia Blasco. Inspired by the simple yet effective mechanism of a folding fan, the Ensombra offered a unique solution for sun protection, combining functionality with an elegant aesthetic. Its effortless opening and closing system, constructed from a series of slats, quickly made it a favorite among design enthusiasts and outdoor furniture aficionados.
Building on this legacy of success, we were excited to work on making it even better as part of our promise to continuously adapt, innovate and work with our partners best interests. That is where the new extension to the Ensombra line comes to play, enhancing its versatility and appeal. This extension maintains the core principles of the original Ensombra—simplicity, elegance, and functionality—while introducing new elements that elevate its usability and charm.
The updated design features three modular halves of seat and backrest components, creating a dynamic living system with numerous configuration possibilities. This modular approach allows the Ensombra to adapt to various settings and needs, from rest areas to waiting zones, recovery spaces, and quiet retreats.
A distinctive feature we have added to the new extension is a hidden connecting element between the poufs, ensuring smooth and stable assembly.
